Retroactive workout logging powered by your heart rate data. Forgot to start a workout? We've got you covered.
The app reads heart rate data from Apple Health and identifies periods where your heart rate was significantly elevated above your personal resting baseline. You can review these periods and log them as workouts — even if you forgot to press "start."
Yes. Open Settings (gear icon) to change the detection sensitivity and minimum workout duration. "More" sensitivity picks up lighter activity, "Less" only flags intense sessions. The minimum duration controls how long an activity must last to be detected (5–60 minutes).
An optional feature that checks for untracked workouts once a day at a time you choose. If any are found, you get a notification. Tap it to open the app with the detected workout ready to save. Enable it in Settings — it uses minimal battery.
Untracked reads heart rate samples, workouts, body measurements, distance, and step count from Apple Health. It writes workouts and associated data (calories, distance) back when you save. All processing happens on your device — nothing is sent anywhere.
Make sure you've granted Untracked permission to read Health data. Go to Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Untracked and enable heart rate reading. You also need a device that records heart rate to Apple Health.
Yes. When you save a workout in Untracked, it's written to Apple Health and appears in the Fitness app alongside your other workouts.
Untracked works with any device that records heart rate to Apple Health — Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, Oura, chest straps, or any compatible wearable.
The calendar shows dots on days where untracked workouts were detected. The color ranges from green (few) to red (many), giving you a heatmap of your unlogged activity.
